ABOUT THE ARTIST

Emmy Award winning artist, Patricia Diebler-Cates found the ability at an early age to fill her home with scores of animals without having actually owned them.

Pat found that if she couldn't collect the animals, she would draw them. As time went by, Pat found herself increasing drawn to biology and equine coursework. She finished her BS degree in West Virginia and began teaching Equestrian Studies in Indiana. After many successful teaching years, her passion for art was once again renewed.

Over the next decade, Pat returned to school, focusing on a concentrated art curiculum, then went on to work for 3 major networks as a television graphic designer, focusing on 3-D animation, winning several video and art awards and receiving noteriety at juried art shows.

In 1989, Ms. Cates revisited Yellowstone National Park where she had worked during the tourist season several years before and was immediately inspired by the wildlife. Concentrating on characteristics privy to each subject, she brings out their very nature. She has since then, included wildlife as part of her active portfolio. In 1997, Green Horse Productions was born, a launching point for her limited edition prints and other giftware. The company pledges a substantial amount of artwork proceeds to various charities and organizations.
